Platform guide
Playing on mobile & tablet
dmnshd.gg works on phones and tablets without an app store install. Most games adapt their controls to touch and run at the highest framerate your device can sustain. This guide covers compatible browsers, touch controls, and other useful info.
Supported browsers
- iPhone / iPad — Safari 16 or newer. Chrome and Firefox on iOS use the same engine, so behavior is similar.
- Android phones & tablets — Chrome (recommended), Edge, Brave, Samsung Internet, or Firefox.
- Other Chromium-based browsers — generally work; if a game refuses to start, fall back to Chrome.
Touch controls
Each game maps controls slightly differently. The default conventions used across dmnshd.gg titles:
Movement
- Left thumb Virtual joystick for movement
- Right thumb Drag to look / aim
Actions
- Tap Primary action
- Long press Secondary action / hold
- Pinch Zoom (where supported)
- Top-left button Pause
Orientation, fullscreen, & the address bar
Most games play best in landscape. If your phone is in portrait when you start a game, you'll usually see a prompt to rotate. After rotating, tap the fullscreen icon (or the "tap to play fullscreen" overlay) to hide the browser. This gives the game more vertical pixels and removes the address bar's tap target from the play area.
On iOS, Safari requires a user tap to enter fullscreen, the game can't request it automatically. Tap the prompt, and the game stays fullscreen until you swipe down from the top.
Performance & battery tips
- Close background apps. iOS and Android both throttle the browser if the device runs hot.
- Take the case off if your phone tends to overheat. Sustained WebGL workloads tend to warm the device quickly.
- Plug in a charger for longer sessions. Mobile browsers throttle the GPU when on battery saver mode.
- Drop screen brightness; the screen is a bigger battery draw than the GPU on most devices.
- If a game stutters, refresh the page once. Long-running browser tabs accumulate memory pressure faster on mobile than desktop.
Mobile troubleshooting
Game won't load past the splash
Force-quit the browser, reopen, and try in a new tab. If the issue persists, clear browser cache for dmnshd.gg.
Audio is silent
Mobile browsers block audio until the user interacts with the page. Tap once anywhere in the game, then the audio should start.
Controls feel laggy
Browser-level low-power mode is the most common cause. Turn off iOS Low Power Mode / Android Battery Saver, plug in, and the game should snap back to a higher framerate.
Screen rotation doesn't trigger
Check that rotation lock is off in your control center, then rotate the phone after the game has loaded. If the game still doesn't rotate, refresh while in landscape.
Phone gets hot after a few minutes
This is normal during sustained 3D rendering. Take a break for a couple of minutes, drop graphics settings if the game offers them, and remove the case for better passive cooling.
Mobile FAQ
Do I need to install an app from the App Store or Google Play?
No. Every game runs in Safari (iOS) or Chrome / Edge / Firefox / Samsung Internet (Android). There is nothing to install. As long as you can open dmnshd.gg in a browser, you can play.
Which iPhones and iPads can play these games?
Any device running iOS 16 / iPadOS 16 or later. Older iPhones can technically load games, but performance drops sharply on devices older than the iPhone XS / 2020 iPad. The current iPad Pro and recent iPhone Pro models run everything smoothly.
Which Android devices are supported?
Any reasonably modern Android phone or tablet from the last four years. Chipsets in the Snapdragon 7-series and 8-series, Tensor, and modern MediaTek Dimensity tiers all run the games well.
Can I use a Bluetooth controller with my phone?
Yes. Pair an Xbox, PlayStation or 8BitDo controller via Bluetooth or USB-C, then open the game. The browser exposes the controller through the Gamepad API. Press a button after the game loads if it does not register.
Why does my phone keep getting hot?
Sustained 3D rendering uses the GPU at high load. Taking the case off, lowering screen brightness, and playing in a cool room all help. The browser will eventually throttle the GPU to protect the device, which shows up as a framerate drop.
Can I save my progress on mobile?
Yes, when you are signed in. Sign in once on the website and your progress, leaderboard scores, and achievements sync across all your devices. Mobile uses the same account as desktop and Quest.
Does multiplayer work on phones?
Yes, in titles that support it. Matchmaking is cross-platform, so your phone can join a room with desktop and Quest players. A stable Wi-Fi connection is recommended, but mobile data works too.
