Spray Space turns the space around you into a wall you're allowed to paint. It's a street-art sandbox that runs straight in your browser: on a Meta Quest in VR or mixed reality, on an AR-capable phone or tablet or on a plain desktop computer. With no download and nothing to install. Pick a can, shake off your inhibitions, and paint at true-to-life scale: pieces the size of an actual wall, not a phone screen.

The spray behaves like spray. Pressure-sensitive controls drive line weight and paint density, so the same can does thin outlines and wide soft fills depending on how you work it — the technique transfers from (and back to) the real thing. Your work hangs in space at full scale, and you can step back, circle it, and judge it from any angle, exactly like standing on the sidewalk in front of it.

Mixed reality is where it gets strange: in passthrough on Quest, the canvas is your own four walls. Paint a burner across your living-room wall, walk around it, and let it mess with your head for a second. No consequences, no cleanup, no ladder.

How to Play

  • Meta Quest (VR & passthrough): point with the controller and hold the trigger to spray. Trigger pressure controls paint flow — feather it for fine lines, squeeze through for full coverage. Your distance to the surface spreads or tightens the spray, like a real can. Use the left thumbstick to select the color you want to spray with.
  • Phone & tablet (AR): paint through the camera onto the world around you, touch to spray. Use the UI to change the size and the color of the spray
  • Desktop: aim with the mouse, click and hold to spray — good for sketching ideas you'll paint properly in VR later. Use the UI to change the size and the color of the spray

Tips

  • Outlines first, fills second. Block in the shape with thin, fast strokes before committing paint to the middle — corrections are cheaper early.
  • Step back. Constantly. Everything looks right from arm's length. Scale errors only show up from across the room, so check your proportions from where a viewer would stand.
  • Use your whole arm. Wrist strokes wobble at wall scale; shoulder strokes stay straight. Real writers already know this one.
