The desert has become cold after the sun has set. Hop into your mine cart, select your weapon and you'll see what's waiting for you out there. Survive the night on the rail tracks — you can't be sure what might be hiding in the shadows. Successfully hit your targets to gain points and increase your multiplier, which is reset after a miss or when you get hit. So be sure to make every shot count! Be careful not to wait too long though — your enemies are also in it to hurt you.

Try keeping the multiplier going for as long as you can. Iron Rails punishes every miss very harshly: the highest score is only feasible if your aim is consistent.

How to Play

Iron Rails is an on-rails VR shooter. The cart carries you through the canyon automatically, so your only job is to aim and shoot. Targets and enemies appear from the dark on both sides of the track, sometimes ahead, sometimes sweeping past as the cart moves. Pick off each one as it comes into range, keep your multiplier alive, and deal with enemies before they close the distance and damage you.

Tips

Protect the multiplier. One miss wipes it, and your score lives and dies on it. A clean, lower-volume run beats a sloppy, spray-and-pray one.
Scan the shadows early. Enemies fade in before they're a threat. Spot them at the edge of the light and you'll have your shot lined up before they're on you.
Don't freeze. Waiting too long lets enemies reach you. Keep a rhythm: acquire, fire, reset, repeat.
Prioritize threats. When multiple enemies are on screen, take the closest enemy first, as they might hit you and kill your multiplier.

After each round, your score will be automatically submitted to the global leaderboards of Iron Rails. If you score high enough, you might even unlock something special. Login to claim your spot on the leaderboards.
